Dear patient,

Thanks for the query; the color in the stool is given mostly by bile, which is secreted by the liver and stored in the gall bladder; when there is normal motion of the bowels, pouring of the bile is normal and it give stool its typical color; if there is rapid transit, for example with diarrrhea, then bile may not get to the stool and change its color.

Hope that helps, wish you the best,

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr.Albana Sejdini's  Response
Hi,

Your stool changed colors due to being dehydrated. In such situations, your body takes its own measures to keep the right levels of water inside including "sucking" the water from the stool. Thus, leading to harder and darker stool.

When you drink more water, your body won't need to "suck" water from your stool, but just the amount as needed. Thus, you'd have a normal color of it.

All the best!
