Having Runny Nose, Blocked Nose. Coughing Up Phlegm. Treatment For Speedy Recovery Since I Have To Travel?

I've had flu symptoms since 5 days ago, and I went to the doctor, he said it's simply the flu and that it should be gone in 5-7 days.

I'm feeling much better now, but I still have to blow my nose regularly as it gets runny or blocked, and I'm also coughing up phlegm every now and then (especially in the morning).
I'm flying to Malaysia tomorrow, and I really want to be better and healthy by the time I get there at least. My voice sounds quite 'nasal' at the moment too, so I'm hoping that disappears.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can speed up the recovery process? I've been drinking plenty of water and resting as much as possible. But is there anything else I can do to recover within 24 hours?

Also, I've been craving pizza for 2 days... Would it be bad if I had some?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding running nose and feeling blockade in nose and ear. As you said you were suffering from flu and that had recovered much except cold.

Since you have to fly for Malaysia therefore cold should be treated to save yourself from associated eustachian tube dysfunction & ear ache.

Here I would like to suggest you -

1- Take steam inhalation.

2- Tab cetrizine.

I hope above will solve your problem.

Regards.
