Having Twitching In Face, Under Eye, Lip. Why This Is Happening?

I have been having twitching in my face for about 6mths. Yet it was isolated incidents. I.e. under my eye or the left side of my lip. Then the other day I was having sex with my man and the whole left side of my face started twitching really bad. This really scared me. Can you tell me why this is?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern for twitching in face, under eye, lip.

It is a simple process due to over-stimulation of the small superficial nerves which supplies the particular area of skin. When the threshold potential of that nerve reaches beyond a particular level of excitation then it leads to stimulation of that nerve and resultant twitching movement.

It can be aggravated by stress, anxiety or emotions and even during sex due to over-excitation. You can meet a neurologist preferably to talk regarding your problem.

In between you can take vitamin B complex containing B12 (Cyanocobalamin) in it which helps a lot in this condition.

Take care.
