Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
I would like to start off by saying you have a very concerned and loving wife, who only wishes for you to live a non-dependant life and nothing less.
Well now, coming to your query. If you indeed get hospitalized for a procedure, the doctor's advises would be as follows:
1. Urine incontinence: A urinary catheter can be placed, which would be attached to a urine bag on the other end and would drain the urine directly from the
urinary bladder externally into the bag
2. Fecal incontinence: In such a scenario, usually a diaper is advised, but in the presence of a urinary catheter, the diaper would either be replaced with laxatives and a regular attendant to help you with a bed pan, or the urinary catheter would be completely avoided and an
adult diaper would still be advised.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for, and this information solves the dispute. Wishing you and your wife a long and happy life, with no disputes what so ever. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
