Headache, Eye Pain, Clotted Blood In Nostrils. Have Aerosinusitis. Treatment At Home?
My husband developed aerosinusitis (sinus barotrauma ) on descent of an airplane, and has had a sharp, severe headache localized in the brow region over his right eye, sometimes shooting through the eye as well, for over 48h. He has now had some clotted blood come out of his nostrils as well. How can he treat himself at home before he is able to see a doctor, and he is in a country without a family physician, so where should he go/who should he ask for help?
He may be able to get Otrivin nasal drops over the counter from a pharmacy,as well as painkiller Brufen tablets 400 mg.let him take this thrice daily for 3 days and put the nasal drops twice daily 3 drops both sides for 5 days with head well tilted back followe by steam inhalation after 5 minutes. If this does not relieve the pain,he may need th see an ENT specialist.he will need antibiotics and steroids which may need a prescription in a strange country.
