Headache, Vein Pulsing In Temps. Normal CT Scan. Prescribed Percocet. Should MRI Be Done?

I am a 27 year old male and four days ago started having a pounding headache. I feel the vein/artery pulsing in my left temple and it is visible to others. The pain is so bad I can't get out of bed or do daily functions. I went to the ER, they did a CT scan which was clean and my sed rates were normal. I was prescribed percocets, they aren't helping even a little bit. I had left over loratabs from a back injury, took a couple of those with no help either. Over the counter medicines such as ibuprofen, advil, alieve etc. with no help. Should I go get an MRI or MRA?

Also, I have no nausea, no eye or neck pain, no sinus issues. Pain gets worse when I stand up, bend over or just move in general. Please help!

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

As CT Scan is normal in your case and you are having daily headache ,MRI should be done.
MRI itself does not diagnoses the cause of headache but it excludes other conditions that may lead to headache.
Also,MRI is the investigation of choice for posterior fossa lesions and CV junction anomoly. It can’t be properly assessed by CT Scan.
Get well soon.

Take Care
