Headache When Standing. Variable Blood Pressure. Cause?

I am a 43 year old female with normal Blood pressure readings of around 110 /72. The last two days I get A horrible headache when I stand. So I took my blood pressure and was 165/111 when I am standing and goes back down to normal when I lay down. I repeated this after two hours and had similar results. What could be causing this?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Normal blood pressure readings are a systolic (upper reading) of less than 120 mmHg and diastolic (lower reading) of 80 mmHg or less.

Your present readings of 165/111 would put you as a having stage 2 blood pressure which is the highest level.

It is possible that these readings are contributing to your headache.

It would be best to visit your doctors to have these levels double checked and appropriate medication started if they are this high.

I hope this helps
