Headaches, Nausea, Fatigue, Imbalance, Sweating, Chills, Chest Pain, Shortness Of Breath. Delayed Reaction To Carbon Monoxide?
Three days after generator was turned off, after being on for four days under our mud room, my husband and I both started feeling ill. Headache , nausea that comes and goes, fatigue , off balance, foggy thinking, hot then cold, but no fever. Husband went to ER with chest pain and shortness of breath and was told heart was fine, but nausea may have caused chest spasms. Could this be a delayed reaction to exposure to carbon monoxide?

Hi!Carbon monoxide sources can be gas water heaters, cigarette smoke, gasoline and diesel powered generators, and so on. The risk factors for carbon monoxide exposure include using heating sources /generators or working indoors with combustion engines. In your case there is every possibility of carbon monoxide delayed poisoning as above mentioned signs and symptoms are commonly seen and moreover when several people in the household are affected at the same time who were previously normal . So be careful in the future!
