Healthy Eater. Having Severe Gas, Cramps, Bloating. Gets Bad After Walking. Reason?
I'm a 42 yr old female. I'm active. I have been a healthy eater for years. Yet, I have at times, sever gas/cramps, stomach bloating. I can't say that I recently changed my diet. It doesn't always happen after eating. Some mornings, I walk 5 miles before breakfast and the stomach pain gets so bad I am bent over to try to relieve it.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. I would come up with these possibilities for this stomach pain, these includes. 1 The first possibilities is of peptic ulcer disease or hiatus hernia.Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy .Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid drinking or eating 2 hours before you lie down.To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolate or spicy or greasy foods. Also take some antacid but if symptoms are severe then you may need drugs like proton pump inhibitors. 2 Gallbladder infection or stone , diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of gallbladder . 3 Exertion pain, as you mentioned in the query that pain subsides after rest so may be due to over exertion. As your age is 42 years so deal according to your stamina. In my opinion deal according to above mentioned reason. Good luck. Dr. HET
