Heavy Bleeding. Ultrasound Shows Normal Size Anteverted Uterus, Unthickened Endometrium. Reason?
Hello doc, i experienced heavy bleeding as per my doctor's term is an intrauterine bleeding and required me for a transvaginal ultrasound..the result was very good normal size of ovaries, normal size anteverted uterus and unthickened endometrium however, until now i still experienced bleeding although not so gross as before i consulted a doctor.
Hi ! If the bleeding continues in heavy quantity, then you may have to revisit your gynaecologist who after re examining you clinically, may advise for a repeat ultrasound for you. If this comes to be normal, she may advise you for a dilatation and curettage, and send the tissue for histo pathological study to exclude any other pathology. If there is no other pathology, the dilatation along with curettage may itself be curative for this problem. Wishing you an early recovery.
Hi, It depends what your age is now. If the usg is normal, then uterine pathology can be ruled out. Then either there may be a hormonal cause to this or its dysfunctional uterine bleeding common in the later age group. If you are 40 plus, then this could be DUB and its managable with medication. If you are young, get your thyroid levels checked.
