Heavy Chest Feeling, Chest X-ray And EKG Normal. Back Discomfort. Costochondritis?
My 21 has a heavy chest feeling. He has had a chest xray , EKG , echocardiogram . All are negative. There is no congestion, no asthma . If he takes night time Alka Seltzer Cold Plus, he feels better. Daytime formula doesn t work. He also feels discomfort in his back today. Could this be contra congitis? I am his mom and I had this in the spring but he has no rib soreness.
Does he have heartburn, sour eructuations, back pain, chest / upper abdominal discomfort/pain?
Are the symptoms more when lying down?
Does he smoke? Are there any other symptoms?
Is a CBC done? any allergies?
It could be 'many things'.
Reflux esophagitis could also cause this (dyspepsia).
Please describe the symptoms in great details to be able to give you a more specific advice.
Take care and please keep me informed of your progress.
Good Luck!
I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily.
Thank you!
