Hello Doc, Is It Okay To Use Dettol To Clean

Hello Doc, Is it okay to use Dettol to clean open wounds? Application of Dettol stings the cells causing pain. How then can it be okay? Isnt it actually damaging the cells that are exposed? We learn that pain is a natural way of informing us that something is hurting us. Cant we use some other alternative that does not sting like Dettol instead? Like iodine perhaps?
