Hello, I am a 59 year old female athlete. I have always been very active and in extreme good health. I live in Missouri and have noticed that running and working out outside has always been more difficult during our humid summers. This summer I experienced the same, but seemingly worse. I noticed and remarked to friends that I was having trouble breathing on really hot, humid days and that it was causing me to slow down. I just chalked it up to humidity and the fact that I am getting older. Now, 2-3 months later, I have noticed that it's still harder to breathe with activity and also that there is a burning sensation and tightness in my chest, as well as difficulty breathing and tiredness during activity; with the chest tightness and burning sensation continuing throughout the day. Also, a slight cough when I breathe in deeply. I went to my doctor whom I have no history with (since I have always been so healthy) and no confidence in. She prescribed Singulair (generic), which I have been taking for 3 weeks with no improvement. I have had no fever and no wheezing. Thank you!
