Hello, I Am A 65 Year Old Female From Australia

Hello, I am a 65 year old female from Australia and I suffer from Restless Legs Syndrome. I started taking Kinson tablets about 8 years ago and they were effective in stopping the RLS symptoms but now even though the dose has been increased the tablets only work for about 4 hours (sometimes they don't work at all). The RLS is getting worse and making my life miserable at times. I told my doctor the problem I am having and he prescribed Valium along with the Kinson to help me sleep better. I also asked my doctor if he could organise for me to have tests to see why I am getting RLS. His response was "there are no tests as we don't know what causes RLS and therefore wouldn't know what to test for." I was disappointed that I didn't come away with a more positive outcome. Unfortunately I am still being awoken at night with RLS even when taking the Valium. I also get RLS during the day if I am feeling tired. I try to have a nap during the day but as soon as I lie down my legs start playing up. Could you recommend perhaps another medication that would be more effective that the Kinson tablets. I am due to see my doctor in 2 weeks to tell him how the Valium is working.
