Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I am a struggling addict who is awaiting a bed to open up in a treatment facility next week but I am ashamed to say smoked a significant quantity of meth and then proceeded to pick at my my neck cheeks and face for a prolonged period resulting in patches of red tissue ribboned throughout my face intermingled with what seem like raised and enlarged unpopped white heads that weep a clear yet slightly milky fluid. along with what appear to be flattened scabs or possible welts a slightly paler color than my skin. They appear almost like the fresh scab from a burn that is just beginning to turn pale. I washed my hands and face and then liberally coated the effected areas (essentially my whole cheek, neck, and partial aid of face area) with Neosporin. I am not proud of my situation, in fact I'm quite ashamed but I'm also looking to the future and the rest of my life and wondering what is the best that can be done to avoid scarring and to have it heal properly. I know that meth contains acid in it that could have very easily been introduced to my skin through initial ingestion process as well as through my sweat and the oil in my fingertips as I picked. Any that you could offer would be greatly appreciated thank you!
