Hello. I Am In A Dilemma Here. My Mother Is

Hello.

I am in a dilemma here. My mother is an Optic Nerve Atrophy patient since 2001. She only has 10% vision in her right eye and hardly in her left eye. We had visited Shanakara Nethralaya, Chennai in 2001. We were told that there is no cure for ONA. But last year, I read an article that told about the breakthrough in medicine that stem cells can be THE ONLY cure for ONA. After which, I sent my mother to Greentech and to Geeta Shroff in Delhi. They didnt seem to give any guarantee about their treatment and its success and it was not quite affordable. We didnt go for it as we didnt get any good reviews about the treatment. We did all the required tests and we have her current eye reports. My mother is 55 years old. We are from Kolkata.

We want to find out the best institute and the one that can give us, if not insurance but at least some guarantee that Stem Cell Therapy could only be her cure.

My sister is due on Oct 26th and we are keeping her umbilical cord in the stem cell bank. I was wondering whether you could use her stem cells to inject into my mother's eyes, if that is possible. The treatment according to Geeta shroff and the rest in Delhi was not at all affordable. We now have another hope which is affordable and that is if your team could do some research to inject my sister's stem cells into my mother's optic nerves.

Please do revert asap.

Thank you.
