Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had a case of rhabdomyolysis over a year ago. Since then any time I do any type of exercise my CPK levels elevate anywhere between 1000 to 10,000! I don't have any heart issues or brain damage that I know of. The myoglobin levels of my urine are normal and I have no physical signs of pain other than the normal soreness associated with working out. I've seen a Neurologist and they can't figure it out. My question is if I continue to workout can the elevated CPK harm me in any way? I've heard people say my Kidneys could shut down but I've searched online and found no evidence of that. Just wanted a second opinion...
