Hello. I have a five year old who has had pretty bad seasonal allergies the past couple of years. Last weekend she woke up with puffy eyes and face. Since then, she has developed a bad cough, severe congestion, complaining of mouth discomfort, and doesn't sleep well. For example, labored breathing, loud breathing, congestion is bothering her so much that she awakes to blow her nose at night. This has never happened to her before! I took her to Cooks ER yesterday, and the doctor prescribed amoxicillin for ear infection, upper respiratory infection and fever of 102.9. This morning she was not doing any better even after two treatments of albuterol through her nebulizer, and her antibiotic. Btw, she has been taking Flonase, Claritin, and singular for almost two years now. The only other meds I've given her is vitamin C and a children's probiotic. Based on what I've read, I believe she might be experiencing an allergic reaction to amoxicillin or one of her other meds, or have a food allergy! Any thoughts? Oh, I am grandma who adopted her. I'm a disabled widow, raising my Angel, and two of my boys who are in college. I'm telling you this because I cannot afford to pay today. If I don't hear from you, I'll understand. Thank you so much for your time, and may God Bless.
