Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a prolapsed disc and my lower back. It happened on 6th September. My GP prescribed me prednisolone 25mg. 2 x tablets twice daily for 5 days and then stopped the treatment. I felt much improved, but obviously still sore. About 10 days later I had to do a shift at work (hospitality). The next day when I got up in the morning I could not stand or sit without excruciating pain. I took one more days worth of prednisolone as previously prescribed from the tablets I had left over and the next day (ie today) I feel much better but feel I could do with another dose. I realise she limited the initial dosage as I can't be on the tablets all the time or I will need to be weened off them over months, but is taking a day or 2 of medication in a situation like this harmful. I will see my GP on Wednesday, but she is not working on the weekend. Thank you. Kind regards Angela
