Hello, I Have Not Had A Period In 6 Weeks

Hello, I have not had a period in 6 weeks (tuba ligation performed after c-section 2 years ago), pelvic pain and have been feeling very tired. I have NEVER missed a period except for my three pregnancies. Last period was VERY heavy and painful. I had an ultrasound result of thickened endometrium with fibroids, two cysts (right and left side) the one on the right ruptured. Can this be cancerous? My doctor wants to wait another 4 weeks, is this standard practice? I'm afraid I have cancer and waiting another 4 weeks seems crazy to me. Not sure what to do.
