Hello, I Was Diagnosed With A Pituitary Microadenoma 20 Years

Hello, I was diagnosed with a pituitary microadenoma 20 years ago at age 34. Since that time, I have managed my Prolactin levels first with Permax and for the last 15 years with Cabergoline - .25 mg. once a week. I am now well into menopause and my insurance is refusing to pay anymore. However, I am wondering if I need to be on this drug anymore. None of the general practitioners I have visited over the years can tell me and we do not have an endocrinologist where I live. Is it safe to stop and simply go on monitoring my Prolactin levels with bi-annual blood draws? If so - should I wean off this dosage in some way? Thank you.
