Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Im a 21 year old male and I just recently started dipping to cut back on smoking. I've only been using it for less than a week or so. After putting in a fairly large dip last night I noticed my gums where I put the tobacco were bleeding mildly and they turned a dark purplish color. I have since not used any dip. I'm going to see a dentist soon. However, I was wondering if this is something to be concerned about? Or is it possible that such a large dip for a new user just tore up a small portion of my gums where I put the dip? If so how long before it starts to heal? Also, the spot is not large and is only on the left side of my front lower tooth. Any help would be appreciated.
