Hello. I'm a 24 years old woman and I too have a question. I am not sure if I need to see a doctor or not. Two days ago I received a sunburn over my upper back, shoulders, upper arms, legs and chest. I have been cooling the burns down and moisturizing them regularly and those on my legs and arms seem to be healing nicely (they are still slightly red but don't hurt unless i scratch), back and shoulders have some weird patches of something that looks like orange peel and itch. I'm guessing that is healing and will start peeling soon, right? but a problem is my chest area. It seems to be healing slowly and I don't mind that, what I am worried about is the swelling. on the lower section of the burn, where the red burn meets white not-burned skin is a sort of swelling. The swelling is just slightly harder than the surrounding tissue and it first appeared this morning. It wasn't there yesterday or the days before. it also seems to be expanding and is now, an entire day later, expanded about 10 cm over the not-burned skin. I'm not cooling down the chest area and am wondering if the swelling is the result of sunburn or if it could be something else. the situation is the same on both breasts. this is the first time I've gotten such a bad burn and I admit I wasn't properly protected. Do you think I should visit my doctor in the next few days or should I just try to cool the places and the swelling will go down? Thank you for your attention in advance
