Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I'm a 50 year old man. I'm 6'1 and 275lbs. I've struggled at times with my weight. I've been as heavy as 325lbs and as light as 250lbs.For a big guy I've always been active and somewhat muscular for my entire life. I've battled hypothyroidism (hereditary) since I was in my early 30' and have managed it through medication. I also have a history of lower back pain due to an accident about 15 years ago L4. L5 & S1 degenerative issues as well. About a year ago I was diagnosed with bursitis/gout in my right big toe. I had a cortizone shot to relieve the pain however a side effect of the shot caused plantar facia in the same foot that I've battled for close to a year. I've had difficulty walking and staying in shape because of the symptoms. I opted to change my diet rather than take expensive pills and I haven't had a flair up in several months. I stretch, do push-ups and light upper body weight lifting to try and keep in shape. In the past month or so I've been getting pain in in my mid thoractic right side more routinely over the same time frame accompanied by occasional headaches and shortness of breathe. I've vomited and had nausea a couple times with the headaches. My health insurance doesn't kick in for a another 2 weeks. Before I jump to conclusions and spend money I don't have on a emergency room visit I thought I'd do some research. Diabetes runs in my family as well as Leukemia and throat cancer. Any ideas
