Hello I'm wondering if a friend has a personality disorder as they have difficulty with relationships They seem so stable emotionally and present a kind and relaxed demeanour in public but with a partner this person displays a rather nasty side. The person becomes very critical and bullying and insists the partner is being untrustworthy which is totally unfounded and becomes extremely difficult to reason with or negotiate with! Taunting and intimidatory behaviour ensues relentlessly . The partner is blamed for everything and may get the silent treatment for at least a week with NO communication at all . This is so distressing for the person on the receiving end who has tried everything to be understanding. Incidentally both parties are medical students who lead stressful lives so perhaps this contributes ? Apologies for such long winded query
