Hello! In 2003 I Was Diagnosed With SVT And Have

Hello! In 2003 I was diagnosed with SVT and have been taking Cardizem CD 120 mg./day. I may go weeks or even months with out an episode and then one day I will experience a rapid rate. It has been some since I had an episode that lasted as long as the one I experienced this morning (around 20 minutes). I engaged in vagal maneuvers, downed a lot of water and took another 120 mg. of Cardizem. I reentered normal sinus rhythm. My cardiologist has encouraged me to undergo ablation therapy, but I am reluctant since episodes such as the one I had today are so infrequent (even a year or so has gone by without the type I had today). I am not eager to up the dosing of Cardizem on a daily basis. What are your thoughts given my description of SVT as I experience it? Thanks very much!! P.S. I am a 58 year-old postmenopausal woman with no other health conditions requiring treatment.
