Hello. My father age 54, had a heart attack approx. 3 years ago. Before this, he was entirely healthy (or as healthy as one 50 yr old can be). Since then, he has been diagnosed with diabetes. He has become very avid on eating healthy and exercising regularly. However, his cardiologist has informed him that despite his dedication to healthy eating and exercise and the addition of the heart damage, his heart is functioning at 38% and cannot be improved. He has been ordered to restrict his physical activities and exercise as well as the addition of more medications. Quite frankly, he lives on his own hours away from me or my sister and is being very coy about the situation. He is the owner of multiple high-stress businesses and is starting another one currently. He has suffered through heartbreak (severely nasty divorce) and other extremely stressful situations that seem to worsen. At this point, I can honestly say the stress is inevitable and cannot be avoided. I need to know options, tips to reduce stressors, healthy and safe exercises, or any other information you can offer. At 54, living in a large house on his own, and completely independent, I worry about what could/will happen next if something doesn't improve. Thank you.
