Hello, My Husband Is In The Hospital Right Now Due

Hello,
My husband is in the hospital right now due to a blockage in his intestine. He had emergency surgery Wednesday afternoon to repair the hernias, and take care of a kink. He has an ileostomy and his flow through the ileostomy is extreme. He also has one kidney. His BUN numbers have gone up from a 22 on 3/27 to a 45 this a.m. His creatinine was 1.9 on 3.28 and 2.9 this a.m. The nephrologist believes the little urine flow and the higher BUN and creatinine numbers are due to so much of my husbands fluids leaving his body through his ostomy. I have thee questions....at what BUN and creatinine numbers are we concerned that his one kidney is failing? What are some causes of the extreme flow through the ostomy (extreme meaning at its worse nurses were emptying his bag every 10-30 minutes) and what are some healthy ways to slow this flow down?
Thank you in advance for your information.
