Hello,
My husband just had a vasectomy 11 days ago and other than the normal discomfort associated with the procedure, he was doing fairly well the first several days. On the 6th day post-op, he started having extreme pain and fever. He consulted the urologist and was diagnosed with epididymitis. He's never had any issues with his reproductive area prior to the vasectomy. The urologist didn't confirm that the vasectomy could have been the cause of the epididymitis that my husband is suffering from. I've tried finding literature on it and could not. My question is: could a vasectomy cause epididymitis? He's been on antibiotics for 4 days now and although his fever is gone and most of the excruciating pain is gone, he's still very uncomfortable. I'm concerned that he will end up with chronic epididymitis, like so many other men who ended up with epididymitis after their vasectomies. Will this be the case?
