Hello. My Mother In Law Is 77 And Has Completed

Hello. My mother in law is 77 and has completed a course of chemo and radiation for Stage 2 cancer of the chest. She is presently hospitalized for severe dehydration and infection of several joints. The antibiotics she is taking appear to have caused a sudden onset of hallucinations, making her very confused, paranoid, agitated, and combative. Two NSAIDs to treat the very swollen joints appear to be adding to the mood changes. We know these mess are needed, but she is so weak and prone to low blood pressure after the chemo, so she cannot be sedated without risk. Her grown children are taking turns staying in the room around the clock, but what else can we do to help her be less frightened? She does not always recognize them, says the water is poisoned and fights taking the mess - even trying to wrestle the nurse. How can we help her?
