Hello,
There seems to be an awful lot of misinformation on the Internet about diabetes. I am interested in recipes for juicing. I am currently taking no medications for my type 2 diabetes ( under Dr.'s orders.)
I am one of the few who does not tolerate Metformin due to nasty side effects. Tried Glipizide for one week and had serious issues with low blood sugar. So we are doing nothing right now for a week or two.
My husband is terminal, I am not working and caring for him 24/7; so stress is high driving up glucose levels.
Had/have taken high doses of meds recently that raise blood sugars Prednisone and yesterday Cortizone :-(
In an effort to drive sugars down (since I have NO idea what I am doing) I have a very lopsided apparently unhealthy diet. I live on salads, raw broccoli & hummus, meat, some cheese, non starchy veggies, zero fruit, zero bread or grains, minimal dairy, no carbs from brown rice, etc. all this non sense I do is mainly because I'm afraid to eat anything.
I am grasping at straws here and thought juicing could be an answer.
So, essentially I am an uncontrolled diabetic. I have lost 45 pounds ( took me a year) but I have kept the weight off. I was exercising a great deal but have seriously injured my feet so I am seeking out cycling versus a walk/ run program I was doing.
So, I feel like I'm in a pickle.
Any advice you can offer is welcomed.
I was admonished by my Dr. To not read ANYTHING on the web unless it's WEBMD. So, here I am.
Thank you,
Laura
