General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. Routine working on computer involves bending of neck for long time ,results in stress to cervical spine & leads to spondylosis. To manage a stress free computer operation while you have cervical spondylosis are- - Adjusting computer screen so as to avoid flexon of neck. The height of screen should be in eye level, while key board to be adjusted at a comfortable height for hand operation & vision without flexing neck.( Special table for cervical spondylosis operator) - Sitting with straight back & neck -touching back of chair,( no humping) -Taking break in between & doing regular neck exercises to relieve/ prevent pain . - Regular neck exercises under physiotherapist's guidance./ regular full body exercises& walking. - Calcium/ vitamin D supplements / Pain killers when needed. Thanks.
