Hello doctorDr. Kokil Mathur, I hope you are still available, I found your name on another site and was impressed by your expertise, but the last posting on that site appears to be 2014.
I am a 44 yo female, who for 9 years has been suffering horrible unexplained bone pain for nine years. Prior to that I was healthy with the exception of yearly bronchitis at fall, worked 3 jobs raised three kids, maintained a home.
I know I have leukocytosis(lowest has been 13, usually 15-17), been followed by a hemo for three years,(going back on records, it's actually been in this state since I got sick) but no DX or reason they said. My RBC has been low entire time3.5-3.8 at highest), WBC high, platelets vary from high normal to high. abs #(?)high.
Before this year, there was no other obvious things going on but pain, terrible bone pain. I've had no bone marrow or other tests done and he is now dismissing me( my old one left, saw this doctor three times) saying he didn't think I had a blood disease. When I explained the b shots do help a little he kept me on begrudgingly. To give me my shot which he changed from once a month to ever three.
Well this year everything seems to be hitting the fan. I suddenly had high bp, which i usually range around 103/70, edema in both legs, My gfr rate was off, found after a year of complaining of flank pain, and sudden onset of nighttime only bedwetting with blood. Is sent to a urologist, they did a cystogram with a bladder biopsy, two weeks ago, been in and out of hospital since with a severe exasperation of asthma which I haven't had in over ten years. I was brought by ambulance day after to hospital found on the ground vomiting and fever, bp 180/110. Cat scan results that stated that " leison on spleen as compared to two years ago, .06/.07 cm leison now 2.0/2.7 cm" I can feel the lump, and have showed it to primary and hemo prior to this only to be told there was nothing there. That if there was it would have been seen in cat scan! Well apparently it was. I also have lumps on my tongue and throat which were biopsied and termed reactive lymphoid hyperplasia~
I am so sick and weak at this point I don't even know why I'm searching for answers. I feel my body is done this fight. It's fought all on its own almost a decade now, and I'm tired. Mentally. I did all they said to do, taken all they said to take, and I am very anti surgery, only reason I allowed the two biopsies were last shots at figuring out what's going on, and helping me help myself. Only last one was done with general anesthesia, and I have been horribly I'll since. Hence my anti surgery belief now cemented. Should I just let my body finish its course? Find out a definite DX so at least family, friends and the state -as i now plan on seeking ssdi as all who've been supporting me, and all savings are gone and i can't work, the check will be small, as I've had only minimum wage jobs, but i have paid into it just enough to have at least something to help, I've never until this relied on others, but at least i know i worked hard and paid into it, can understand my illness? Or just, as I planned a few months ago, give the docs one last round to figure out, then just let nature take it's course? Please, if you can provide any insight at all, if appreciate it so much. I don't have anything much, but can try to pay a fee, I can promise a prayer every day, and if you'd like some social media exposure? for some reason just reading your posts makes me trust your instincts.
