Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi My name is Abdul I m enquiry about my mother haematology report can you tell me what is that and how to treat that matter Hemoglobin :9.6 g/dl PVC . :31% R b c :3.6 million /Ul WBC count. :21.200 number/Ul Differential leukocyte count Neutrophils. : 88% Lymphocytes :10% E osinophils :01% Monocytes :01% Peripheral smear : rbc:normocytic/ normochromic with minimal Anisopoikilocytosis WBC: neutrophilic leukocytosis plateletes are adequate
The reports suggests: 1. Decreased Hemoglobin concentration- suggestive of anemia, needs to be corrected by intake of Hematinics like iron, Vit B12 & Folic acid 2. Increased Neutrophil count- suggestive of acute infection, needs to be corrected by anti biotic therapy.
Kindly consult your GP, get a proper clinical examination done & start treatment. Wishing your mother a good health. Take care.
Hi, Abdul. I have a few questions and comments on your mom's CBC and Peripheral Blood Smear report. The hemoglobin, hematocrit and RBC count are quite low which suggest anemia. What is her age? Is there any sign of bleeding? The WBC count and neutrophil counts are elevated which suggest a bacterial infection. Any fever, cough, colds, diarrhea, or painful urination? The peripheral blood smear just confirms the elevation in the WBC count and neutrophil count in the CBC. Nothing wrong with the red blood cells and platelets. I hope these answer your question. I would love to hear any follow-up question or update on your mom's condition.
