Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctors. My wife is 35 weeks and she was prescribed to take 500 mg proluton injection per week from her 20 weeks. Her is PCOS problem. the main concern is we had GTT in her 28 weeks and found the results normal but we have again had GTT in her 34 weeks and found she has developed Gestation diabetes. Now doc has asked her to go on insulin injections. My question is if proluton increased/ suppressed the insulin in the body then there is total chance that the high sugar values are due to use of high dosage of proluton. what is chance that the injected insulin would work as she is still on proluton. We feel the doc is making the pregnancy more complicated now by still ask to have the proluton injections, insulin, and then further big baby ...... and finally she says c section due to this.
Please advice.
