Hi. I am 42 years old. 6' and 240 lbs. For the past year, I have been having serious headaches. Actually - these have been going on for many years, but they where periodic in nature. At one point, a physician called them atypical migraines. Over the last two months, I have been having trouble with memory and even the most basic computation skills. As a trained statistician, these functions are my bread and butter. My primary physician ordered an MRI with contrast. I received the results yesterday from the neurologist who told me that I have white matter lesions in my frontal lobe. He is relatively slow to respond, and wants to understand my fatigue as well - so he ordered a sleep study. I guess my question is...in light of the white matter lesions found on the MRI, what would a course of action be...next steps, etc. I am not feeling like a sleep study should come next. As I am 42 years old, I am concerned about the struggles I am having with my cognition and extreme headaches.
