Hi,
I am a 24 year female with a desk job but do go to the gym almost daily to lift weights and do cardio. I have a long history of low calorie dieting (1200 cal and lower) and also dieted for a bodybuilding competition this year. I never entered the competition as I was experiencing several health issues after 4 months of dieting (hair loss, loss of period, feeling faint). I have since then had a few months to recover and eat a normal healthy diet again.
I tried to lose weight again recently but I dont seem to be able to which led me to do research into hormonal issues as i otherwise don't know why else I can't lose weight. I then swapped to a lower estrogen contraceptive pill (went from yasmin to zoely) as well but I still seem to have trouble. I'm not hugely overweight but with a height of 166cm and a weight of 66kg, I think I'm borderline overweight. Most of my bodyfat seems to be sitting around my hips and thighs. I'd like to reduce my weight to 60kg to be in a healthier range but since I am following a healthy diet (around 1700-1800 cal, healthy fats, low sugar) already and exercise as well, I don't know what else to do?
Are my hormones responsible for this?
What else could I do to rebalance them or anything to help me lose weight?
Thank you for your help!
Simone
