Hi, I am a 37 yr old female. Was diagnosed having one uterine fibroid 7 cm In July 2015 when my haemoglobin went to a 5 and I was given 2 units of blood at the emergency. My periods have become longer to 12 days since then but this time it started on March 22 and has not stopped till date. Its not continuous bleeding but I have had to wear a pad every single day since March 22. This is the first time ever this has happened. My cycle is otherwise very regular to every 25 days, but have since I remember always had 6 or 7 day long cycles since they started for me. Got my haemoglobin checked yesterday and it is at 11.3. My TSH is 6.48. I am trying ayurvedic medicine and natural supplements for my thyroid and fibroid since a few months now and am not taking any prescription pills.

I have been suggested to start taking one birth control pill everyday for 3 months. I am very doubtful about that as I have heard it gives a lot of side effects. Also I am from India and in my country we don't take a lot of medicine so I try to not take it unless and until really necessary. Please help and advice me.
