Hi
I am a 44 year old female. I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia 2-3 years ago. I was on lanzoprazole but symptoms got better and I haven't had to use it for about 4-6 months. In the past couple of weeks I have had a sore throat and heaviness in my esophagus area and a very occasional cough (I cough just once or twice dryly and then usually not again) on and off. Five days ago the sore throat and heaviness was back and small cough a couple of times. It feels like a cold starting in my throat and chest. The thing that worried me is that I coughed a bit this morning and a little blood came up. Just a bit but it was weird. I also have constipation on and off and for the last few days persistent mild-moderate pain in my left low abdomen. Just wondering if the throat stuff is typical with hiatus hernia? Made the mistake of googling and things like colon cancer and lung cancer came up.
