Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a very healthy 48 year old white male. 5' - 9" and 175. I exercise and eat healthy. No major medical problems other than severe GERD. I get scoped annually. I get a CBC every 6 months from two different doctors. My ALT and AST suddenly jumped (over a 4 month period) from normal to an ALT 146 and AST 229. I was on Nexium (for GERD) for about 20 years. I have been on Dexilant now for about 6 months. I now notice a foul (acidic/ammonia/vinegar) type smell coming from my breath. My Dr. has ordered an Ultrasound to check for a fatty liver. I do not drink alcohol or use drugs. I did drink beer (a lot) from age 20-40 but quit. Any ideas??? Thank you. Mark
