Hi I Am Borderline At Having Blood Sugar Issue's, Blood

Hi
I am borderline at having blood sugar issue's, blood draw at the doc is usually in the 110 area for the last 2 years ( 12hr fast) I am working on this issue with walking a mile a day and low carb/ sugar diet. I have lost about 20# in the last year. I bought a blood sugar monitor and the test stripes to monitor my progress between physicals. Aside from the fact that the Contour monitor I purchased shows better numbers than the doc gets and yes I believe theirs is more correct. My question is....in the morning after fasting for twelve hrs no coffee no nada the number by my monitor is consistentley 98/102 but after eating a "healthy" meal the number is way low (1hr to 1/1/2hr after) the numbers are 78/88. Obviously happy with that but what would cause the morning fast numbers to be so much higher???? worries me. I am 62 yrs old and very active and "healthy" never sick. Any input would be very helpful
thank you Steve
