Hi I am really afraid I have been through a lot health wise i have a leg ulcer that is so very painful I have had it since May I went to see a vascular surgeon yesterday The surgeon thinks I should have the saffinous vein removed I am ok with this but very afraid I have been referred to go to an ambulatory clinic for wound care up until I get my surgery They said I should postpone my surgery treat my ulcer aggressively and see what happens and do surgery later if need be. The surgeon said I should keep it dry with 4x4 gauze pads and compression knee highs that I have at home that are prescription The clinic said yes dry is ok and not do so aggressively now keep it dry and after surgery aggressively treat I thought ok maybe yes I will postpone surgery give the clinic a chance to try to heal it first Now i think I am just going to suffer more day in and out that I already have since May I am in severe pain 24/7 I cannot sleep well because of so much pain I am taking pain meds all of the time which I hate to do That cannot be good for my body Something tells me I should go forth with the surgery do the dry treatment at the clinic until my surgery like the surgeon said Please help me?
