Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I had 2003 stage 4 Long Cancer and the Chemo was not working so they decided to remove my Right Lung about 3 months removing my Lung I went to the Emergency room because I felt strange feeling in the area where the Long was removed and when I went to the ER I was told that I had a bronchial Plural fistula and the sealed it with a medical Glue. Now I was having a Cronic Cough and was Prescribed medicine for what we though was a cold. Cough Medicine, Antibiotic and Prednisone which usually helps because I get this Cough yearly and Depending on the Weather, and I have Asthma after removal of the Lung. The Cronic Cough Continue after complete the Medication. So my Pulmonary Dr had me get a Chest x ray it was clear, My Pulmonary Dr said I had GERD and prescribed me Prilosec. I was referred to a Ear Nose and Throat and item was stuck in my left nostril and after the results I had to have a FL Esophageal Test and the Results is My Esophagus moves left and Right due to the Removal of my Right Lung and when My stomach is Full after eating or drinking the coughing comes back and also which I lay Flat therefore I have to stay up with my Bed Chair soft Pillow and other pillows. I was told by my Pulmonary Dr. there is not much that they can do but just continue take the Prilosec because it seems to help and he will do a more extensive test in my Nose which has to be scheduled. I also have LUPUS but My Rheumatologist said it is not ACTIVE. I am aware that there is also fluid on my right side due to removal of the Lung and I only can sleep on my right side because it seems like if I sleep on my Left side the Fluid moves where my Left Lung and I switch onto my back and back to my right side again.
