What Causes Persistent Chest Blockage, Dizziness, And Possible Acid Reflux After A Chest Infection?

Hi, I had some chest infection few weeks ago which caused breathing issues and blood in cough. It got cured after a week but I still feel there is some blockage somewhere between nose and chest that sometimes causes dizziness, and something comes out like cough but is not exactly cough, maybe acid. Not sure. Also, I got my body check up done, nothing serious was found except slightly high uric acid that was 7.8 and high c reactive protein

Hello,

Uric acid of 7.8 is just above the threshold. This doesn't mean gout, but it could increase the risk over time. Foods you need to avoid are red meat, organ meats, seafood, and sugary drinks. To your regular diet add foods like cherries, berries, lemon water, and fiber-rich veggies. Keep yourself well hydrated. Since you have high C-reactive protein, lose weight if obese.

Reduce stress, sleep well, and avoid smoking or alcohol. Get examined by a GP to detect the cause of chronic inflammation, autoimmune flare-ups and cardiovascular risks. Since you have acid reflux avoid spicy, fatty, or acidic foods. Try gentle breathing exercises. Taking antacids and PPIs will give relief.

In case you are experiencing chest tightness or blockage that lasts more than 2–3 weeks, you should get clinically examined and evaluated so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Post-viral fatigue or dehydration can be detected through dizziness. Even after a chest infection clears, your airways can remain inflamed for weeks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
