Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a concern about sharp pains after my husband has sucked on my right breast nipple during intimacy. Mostly feeling this before menstrual cycle begins but more noticeable than before. He barely is sucking but causes very sharp stinging pain. I'm more concerned because I was diagnosed with invasive DCIS on my left breast 14 months ago had a unilateral left breast masectomy with implant reconstruction. I tested negative for BRAC1 or 2 gene but did have other gene defect that was not revalent for more treatment. I recently had my yearly preventive mammo on my right breast 4 months ago and everything checked out fine. I'm still in the process of reconstruction on my left side and getting ready to have a lift on the right side to match up the nipple reconstruction. Is it possible the mammo 4 months ago did not pick something up. Also my DCIS was hormone receptive and was suggested that I take tomoxifin but decided not too. The DCIS diagnosis was picked up on the first mammogram I received and looking back had those same symptoms. Should I let my plastic surgeon know and have another look at the right breast before the lift?
