Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have already been to urgent care and am taking care of my toe. I moved furniture barefoot (stupid I know) and tore my nail all the way back on my right great toe. I pressed it back into place, poured hydrogen peroxide on it and wrapped it tightly in bandages to go to Urgent Care. I have been doing epsom salt warm soapy water soaks and Bacitracin along with bandaging. I went to work today (took one day off - yesterday) and it appears reddish at the tip and a bit swollen. I have it elevated now and I took ibuprophen. I am about to re-wrap it, but thought it might need air and a break from being bound up. How long until it is comfortable to leave unbandaged? (approximately) My husband made a little cardboard box for me to wear sleeping (with a sock) so I don't disturb it.
