Hi. I Have Been Prescribed The Theapeutic Doseage Of Ibuprofen

Hi. I have been prescribed the theapeutic doseage of Ibuprofen (2 every 2 hours) following a root canal (with abscess/infection) on Tuesday. That was keeping the pain at bay until today when the pus pocket in my gum swelled up - (my cheek is swollen, red and hot). I'm in incredible pain and the Ibuprofen isn't helping any more. I can't reach my endodontist to ask this question. What can I take for pain that will be safe since I've been on such a high dose of Ibuprofen? I have acetaminophen with codeine #3 at home and I also have some Tramadol- 50mg. Can I take one of those now? It's been two hours since my last Ibruprofen? If it's okay to take the stronger pain reliever, should I stop taking the Ibuprofen? Thank you! Jeanette
