Hi, I just found out about this and I think it is great. Thank you for being here and doing this. My question is that even though I drink water, it feel as if my body is not absorbing it as it should. Do you know what might be the cause of that? Even when I wake up from sleep it is the same thing. Do you know what might be causing this and how to fix it? Thank you, Love Louise
Body asks for more water in the form of thirst. The thirst depends on various factors like the climate, temperature of environment, humidity levels, activity of sweat glands etc. If your body is asking for more water than usual, you must rule out diabetes mellitus by getting your sugar level tested. You must also get tested to rule out another condition called diabetes insipidus. These 2 conditions sound similar however they are not related to each other.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
