Hi, I Just Have Question For You. I Had Done

Hi,
I just have question for you. I had done a transvaginal ultrasound last week and these are the results. I am 46 years old and my last period was 6 months ago because I took progesterone and then last month on Feb 5, 2016 because I took progesterone. My progesterone level is less than .05. I believe I am in pre-menopause.
Homogeneous anteverted uterus.
The endometrium measure 10.1. There is a well circumscribed, echogenic mass within the endometrium with peripherical blood flow=0.64X0.57X0.82cm. Probable polyp.
Left adnexa demostrate tortuose pelvic vein that increase .48 cm, pelvic congestion.
No free fluid or discrete adnexae mass.
Is this a polyp? Also, my previous OBGYN suggested that polyps will shed off with the periods if I take progesterone regularly like every 45 days or so. Is it true? or you need surgery. My current OBGYN want to perform an D&C procedure to remove what is there and to remove the lining of the uterus. What should I do?
