Hi, I recently had an IV in my left hand. I returned to ER the following day with red lines running up to my elbow. Diagnosis was phlebitus(sp) and was put on antibiotics for 10 days. Day 2 the red lines had gone away but the pain continued and my veins to mid forearm are still hard and like rubberbands. I'm finished with my med and the pain is still quite bad...a 7 on the scale, to the touch. Is there something else going on???
